A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 12:38 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 1:30 p.m. for East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades and Central Oregon.

Look for marble-sized hail (0.5 inches) and wind gusts of up to 50 mph.

"At 12:37 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm near Deschutes River Woods, or near Bend, moving northeast at 30 mph," explains the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible."

Locations impacted by the alert include Bend, Redmond, Tumalo and Deschutes River Woods.

According to the weather service, "If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building."
