Things got interesting late in the first game of the Kellen Moore era, but the New Orleans Saints could not pull off the dramatic finish.

The Saints lost their first game under their new head coach, 20-13, at home to the Arizona Cardinals. New Orleans drove to the Arizona 18-yard line in the closing seconds looking to tie the game or take the lead, but it could not find the big play. Tight end Juwan Johnson came close to hauling in a touchdown in the closing seconds, but couldn’t maintain possession through contact.

Sunday’s loss was the first in a season opener by the Saints since the 2018 season.
