LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A person was hospitalized after being hit by a train near downtown Little Rock on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the train bridge near the intersection of Cross Street and Cantrell Road shortly before 2 p.m. to rescue someone. The person's condition has not been released.
Union Pacific said one of their trains struck a trespasser on the tracks near 1122 North St. The incident did not happen at a crossing. The train's crew was not injured.
The cause of the incident is under investigation. The Little Rock Fire and Police Departments, Pulaski County Sheriff's Office, and MEMS all responded to the scene.
