Barring a post-season matchup, the Blue Jays and Yankees met for the final time Sunday in the Bronx.
In club history, the Jays have never hooked up with the Pinstripers in the playoffs, which is a shame and which is why a potential October series between the two sides would be so captivating and so intoxicating.
Regardless of the outcome of Sunday’s series rubber match, the Jays were already assured of earning the season series having gone 6-2 at home versus their AL East foe.

Sunday’s stakes were at their highest, the proverbial two-game swing riding in the balance with the Jays sitting atop the division at 82-60 followed by the 79-63 Yankees.
With that in mind and with the Jays holding the tiebreaker, the Yankees were under
