Storm Amy threatens to become Britain’s first named tempest of autumn this week – as a trio of torments bring 65mph gales , four inches of rain and 20ft waves. ‌

Gusts pushing 50mph are due on Tuesday in the west , with 55mph winds on Friday in the north and a 65mph battering from a 500 mile-wide Atlantic storm on Sunday (September 14) in the south. ‌
