FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WSMV) - A former nurse was arrested and charged after an investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

TBI said special agents began investigating Elizabeth Rainwater, 54, in November 2024 after they received a tip from the Tennessee Department of Health.

During their investigation, agents discovered that in August 2024, Rainwater had surrendered her Registered Nurse license as part of a plea deal. However, she allegedly continued working as a nurse at a Franklin nursing home until September 10, 2024.

In those several weeks that she continued working as a nurse, Rainwater allegedly diverted controlled substances, including opioids, from residents at the facility, TBI said.
