ASHLAND, Ohio (WJW) – The Mapleton Local School District shared an update about the investigation into what made more than 40 kids, most of them in the middle school, report feeling ill.

Students first began reporting their symptoms at about 10 a.m. on August 29, according to officials. Some said they felt shaky and dizzy. They were then taken to seven different hospitals.

According to an update on the situation from the school district on Sunday, school operations resumed on Tuesday, September 2 and “concluded without incident.” By Thursday, Sept. 4, attendance rates at all three Mapleton school buildings returned to normal levels.
