MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) - Moline Viking Club hosted its 5th annual summer safety bash on Sunday.
The event aims to build relationships between Moline Police Officers and members of the Moline Fire Department with kids in the community.
“We want the relationship to initiate now so that it continues to grow as they get older and realize that the police officers and the firefighters, all our first responders, that they’re really good people and they’re here to help us in this community,” said Dale Keim, President of Moline Viking Club.
Families had the opportunity to enjoy hot dogs and beverages and the kids were able to get inside fire trucks and police cars to have a feeling of how it is to be a first responder.
