MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas (KETK) - Northeast Texas Community College in Mount Pleasant recently announced that their nursing program has been awarded over $1 million in grant funding.
The college's nursing program has received $1,037,871.79 in funding from four statewide programs to support their training of the next generation of nurses. The following programs have each awarded funds to the NTCC nursing program this year: • The 2024-2028 Nursing Shortage Reduction Program gave $244,867.95 to fund the entire accreditation process for NTCC's Vocational Nursing and RN Programs. • The Nursing Innovation Grant Program gave $416,604.96 to integrate Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) and Patient Care Technician (PCT) certifications into NTCC's nursing curriculum. • The 2025-2027 Nursing Shortage Redu
