INGLEWOOD, Calif. – It took a clutch takeaway, but the Rams (1-0) found a way to hang on for a 14-9 win over the Texans (0-1) on Sunday at SoFi Stadium.

As the Texans drove down the field late in the fourth quarter with a chance to score the go-ahead touchdown, inside linebacker Nate Landman knocked the ball loose from Texans running back Dare Ogunbowale, with defensive end Braden Fiske recovering with 1:51 remaining. From there, the Rams were able to drain the remaining clock, helped in part by a key 24-yard completion from quarterback Matthew Stafford to wide receiver Puka Nacua for a 24-yard gain on 3rd and 8.

Stafford became only the 10th quarterback in NFL history to reach 60,000 career passing yards after throwing for 245 against the Texans in the win.
