AMES, Iowa (KCRG) - For the first time since 2011, Iowa State won the Cy-Hawk game at home. It’s a breakthrough win for Matt Campbell’s team, as he is in his tenth year with the program.

“At a place like this, you’ve got to learn the hard way. There’s no instant gratification. I think that’s been one of the great blessings to be here, now 10 years of like, ‘What does it take to win?” said Campbell.

It’s all been a process.

“It hasn’t always been perfect and we’ve had to have some hard moments and we’ve had to learn. Hopefully we don’t have to have any of those hard moments going forward. But we may and the ability to be humble enough to learn from them and get better from them, I think that’s helped us,” said Campbell.
