A second wildfire, which broke out on Saturday (Sept. 6) afternoon next to Highway 19, 20 minutes north of Campbell River, is "under control," as of Sunday afternoon.
The wildfire is located next to Highway 19, south of Roberts Lake. Crews were working along the highway.
One initial attack crew and two helicopters responded to this wildfire.
"Please exercise caution if driving through and expect potential delays as lane closures may be needed to ensure responder safety," says the wildfire service.
The location of the Sept. 5 wildfire is close to Buttle Lake, near the popular campgrounds, west of Campbell River.
