Hundreds of health care workers for Kaiser Permanente across Northern California will be striking in Roseville and Oakland on Monday.

The United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP) called the strike amid ongoing contract bargaining with Kaiser. According to UNAC/UHCP, more than 600 certified nurse midwives and certified registered nurse anesthetists delivered their 10-day notice of a strike last week as they continue to negotiate the first union contract.

The strike will also include other medical workers, including the union's physician assistants and acupuncture providers. Caregivers at Kaiser facilities from Sacramento to Fresno and across the Bay Area are expected to join.
