Two people are in custody after nearly 20 handicap parking placards were stolen over the past few months in Boston's Brighton neighborhood.

Boston police say Andrea Doucette-Keating, 55, and Zachary Shelton, 37, both of Brighton, were arrested following an extensive investigation and charged with various property-related offenses in connection to the incidents.

Nineteen handicap parking placards have been reported stolen so far, according to police, who said three key incidents were identified by detectives, including: June 30 at 82 Glenville Avenue, and Aug. 14 at both 95 Washington Street and 34 Fidelis Way.
