DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio —

A 77-year-old Loveland man is facing charges after a woman was fatally shot in Deerfield Township.

According to police, officers responded to the Deerfield Township Fire Station around 3:17 p.m. for a report of a person with a gunshot wound. Advertisement

Firefighters at the station began performing life saving measures, but the victim was later determined to be dead at the scene.

Police say that Gerald Olin Finley, 77, from Loveland, has been charged with murder and felonious assault in connection with the case.

In court, prosecutors said Finley and the woman were driving in a vehicle together when the shooting happened and then drove to a fire station nearby for help.
