CHARLES TOWN — Four cadets officially joined the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Reserves this weekend during a ceremony that marked the graduation of Class 14, a group praised for its perseverance, teamwork and dedication to community service.

The graduates completed months of Saturday training sessions, balancing work, family and other obligations while preparing to assist deputies in the field. Sheriff Tom Hansen said the reserves are “the eyes and ears” of the department, providing critical support in situations ranging from traffic control to prisoner transport.
