REDDICK, Fla. (WCJB) - Marion County sheriff’s deputies say the man they shot after a traffic stop died in the hospital.

They pulled over 25-year-old D’Montae Shannon around 3 a.m. on Friday.

They say he started driving towards a deputy, causing another deputy to shoot Shannon, which landed him in the hospital.

He died late Friday night from his injuries.

Shannon was facing charges of aggravated assault on an officer and battery before his death.
