St. Louis University found its offense and recovered the Bronze Boot on Sunday night.

The trophy the Billikens get to keep for a year and how long the offense lasts will be a major factor for this year's team. After scoring just twice in its first four games, 16th-ranked SLU scored twice in the second half and then hung on for a 2-1 win over Southern Illinois Edwardsville before 2,245 fans at Hermann Stadium as the series returned to campus after two seasons at Energizer Park. SLU recaptured the trophy and bragging rights after the Cougars had won the game the past two years.

Xavi O’Neil, a transfer from Boston College, started the scoring in the 58th minute and Theo Franca, a freshman from Brazil, scored in the 66th minute for SLU. SIUE’s Evan Howard, a senior from England, made it 2-1
