As a mom, it has been a priority of mine to teach my children the importance of civic involvement. Their ability to cast a vote is not only an honor and privilege, but it is a responsibility we hope they will take seriously. We may not have been able to play a part in originally securing men’s and women’s right to have their voices heard, but we can vote to secure and protect this right for generations to come.

In light of recent events, I think we should all agree that increased accountability, transparency, and confidence in this area is much needed. I believe requiring an ID is a major step toward ensuring electoral fairness.
