TEL AVIV, Israel — (TNS) Israel's Supreme Court has ruled that Palestinian prisoners need to be supplied with sufficient food, ordering an end to the food reduction policy implemented by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, local media reported on Sunday.

The court accepted a petition brought by the Association for Civil Rights in Israel, which had previously reported that conditions for Palestinian inmates in Israeli prisoners have significantly deteriorated since the October 7, 2023, attacks and the subsequent conflict in Gaza.

According to the group, many of the Palestinian prisoners, which reportedly include fighters who took part in the October 7 attacks, are very malnourished.
