The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls last week, including notices for certain Jeep vehicles.
Are you looking to see if recalls have been issued on your vehicle? Owners can check USA TODAY's automotive recall database or search NHTSA's database for new recalls.
The NHTSA website also allows you to search for recalls by your vehicle identification number, or VIN. Here's what you need to know about the vehicle recalls published by NHTSA from Sept. 1 to Sept. 7:
Jeeps recalled for software error
Stellantis recalled certain 2022 to 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Plug-In Hybrid Electric vehicles as a software error could cause the vehicles to lose drive power.
The vehicles may experience an overloading of the microprocessor in the Battery Pack Control Module, resulting in a reset, according to the recall report. During some resets, the Hybrid Control Processor in the recalled vehicles may misinterpret a signal from the module, leading to a loss of propulsion.
A remedy for the recall is currently under development. Notification letters are to be mailed on Oct. 23.
Affected vehicles: 91,787
BMWs recalled for improperly sealed windshield
BMW recalled certain 2026 X5, X5 Plug-in Hybrid, and X7 vehicles as they may have a windshield that was not properly sealed.
The improperly sealed windshields may allow water to enter the power distribution box or electronic control unit in the affected vehicles, according to the NHTSA.
Dealers are to inspect the windshield seal. If any leaks are found, the seal will be repaired with vehicle control units, and wiring will be replaced as necessary for free.
Owner notification letters are to be mailed Oct. 17.
Affected vehicles: 1,406
