Five people were taken to hospital after a Cambridge leisure centre was evacuated on Saturday, September 6. Emergency services were called to the Abbey Leisure Complex on Whitehill Road with reports of a "strong smell of chlorine" coming from the pool.
The East of England Ambulance service were called to the area at around 11:10am. Five ambulances, the Hazardous Area Response Team and an ambulance officer vehicle were sent to the scene.
Five patients were taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital for further treatment. Abbey Leisure Complex reopened to the public at 2:30pm.
