EVANSVILLE – It seems like everyone’s talking about their high CenterPoint bills.
Last month, the Downtown arcade bar Arcademie hosted a special event where they shut off as much electricity as possible and invited patrons to tack their ballooning utility bills to the walls.
Down the street, after being handed a nearly $800 electric bill for the month, the Italian restaurant Angelo’s posted a sign out front warning it will “NOT serve” CenterPoint employees “and those WHO Affiliate With THEM!!” The only exception, the owner later told the Courier & Press, was for line workers and everyday employees who actively keep the lights on.
