Dear Care and Feeding,
My wife “Jane” and I have two kids, “Annie,” who is 3, and “Alicia,” 7. For the last few months, Annie has taken to throwing tantrums when she doesn’t get her way. Jane’s new response to this is immediate consequences. If we are at home, Annie goes into a time-out. But it’s when we are out and about that the problem arises.
Last weekend we were at Disneyland (we live within an hour’s drive), and Annie threw a tantrum over being told she couldn’t have a churro until after lunch.
