MOORHEAD — The city of Moorhead is preparing to sell the building currently occupied by the Moorhead Public Library.
According to a notice issued by the city, the Moorhead City Council will consider the sale of the library building and land during its meeting on Monday, Sept. 22, at the Hjemkomst Center. At 5:45 on Sept. 22, the City Council will hold a public hearing on the sale.
According to Derrick LaPoint, president and CEO of Downtown Moorhead Inc., the city is taking the steps necessary to prepare to sell the building as construction continues on the new community center and library building. Downtown Moorhead Inc. is a nonprofit that is contracted by the city to assist with economic development activities.
