Royal tributes have poured in for the Duchess of Kent after Buckingham Palace announced she died on Thursday 4th September. The Prince and Princess of Wales were quick to share a message about the royal, paying tribute to her ‘tireless work’ to help others and her ‘love of music.’

In a statement released this morning, the palace stated Katharine, the Duchess of Kent, had died surrounded by family. She is survived by Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, and their three children. The statement read, 'It is with deep sorrow that Buckingham Palace announces the death of Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent.

'Her Royal Highness passed away peacefully last night at Kensington Palace, surrounded by her family.
