LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are investigating after an officer was involved in a shots-fired incident.

According to police, officers responded just after 2 a.m. Monday for a reported robbery in the 2000 block of Cambridge Drive.

Police say the victim told them they were robbed and their vehicle was stolen.

Officers later found that vehicle in the 100 block of Lakeshore Drive.

Police say officers saw someone in the area who was armed with a rifle. That person ran off, and officers followed.

We’re told the person fired a shot, and then officers returned fire. However, no one was hit.

The suspect had minor injuries as a result of the foot chase and was taken to the hospital. The suspect was treated at the hospital, but is now in police custody. That person’s name has not yet been rel
