SEATTLE -- While the San Francisco 49ers were unable to strike a long-term contract agreement with one of their top pending free agents in receiver Jauan Jennings last week, they took care of a different one on Monday morning.
The Niners and right tackle Colton McKivitz came to terms on a three-year, $45 million contract that includes $27 million guaranteed on Monday morning, agents Doug Hendrickson and CJ LaBoy told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal will keep McKivitz in San Francisco through the 2028 season.
McKivitz's deal comes less than a week after he indicated that both he and the team wanted to work something out to keep him around for the long haul but he said he wasn't sure anything was necessarily close.
