A delightful village in the West Midlands boasts a captivating history, beloved cafes and stunning architecture - but there is one catch.

Bournville in Birmingham was established in the late 1800s when the Cadbury brothers - of Cadbury chocolate renown - decided they required somewhere to expand their enterprise.

Richard and George discovered space near the city centre with a waterway called the Bourn, and recognised that it was the ideal location to construct their chocolate empire.

The brothers wished their workforce to enjoy a high standard of living, and so constructed homes close to their factory for them to reside in. In 1983, they commenced planning a model village on 120 acres of land featuring spacio
