President Donald Trump attended the U.S. Open men's singles final on Sept. 7, his latest of several sport event outings as president.

The crowd's reaction to Trump's appearance was mixed. Videos show people cheering and booing as he arrived following a match delay due to enhanced security checks. First lady Melania Trump did not join the president, but his son-in-law Jared Kushner and granddaughter Arabella Kushner appeared beside him.

Trump was the first sitting U.S. president to attend the U.S. Open at Flushing Meadows, New York, since Bill Clinton in 2000. But sports fans booing and cheering is not new for Trump, who has attended several high-profile competitions since returning to the White House in January.

  • Super Bowl LIX - Trump became the first sitting president to attend the NFL championship game on Feb. 9, 2025.
  • Daytona 500 - Trump attended the signature NASCAR event at Daytona Beach in Florida on Feb. 16, 2025. It was his second appearance at the event as president.
  • NCAA wrestling championships - Trump attended the finals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on March 22, 2025.
  • Saudi-backed LIV Golf tournament - Trump landed the Marine One helicopter on the course at Trump National Doral Golf Club on April 3, 2025. His golf club hosted the event.
  • UFC Fight - Trump attended the UFC MMA match in Miami, Florida, on April 12, 2025.
  • UFC Fight - Trump attended another UFC fight in Newark, New Jersey, on June 7, 2025.
  • FIFA Club World Cup - Trump went viral for celebrating on stage with the winners of the FIFA Club World Cup at MetLife Stadium on July 13.

Trump has also said he will attend the Ryder Cup golf tournament in late September.
