A long-standing Arctic research nonprofit will shutter its doors at the end of the month after more than 30 years of work with universities, state and federal agencies, and other nonprofits, after its federal grant was scrapped.
The Arctic Research Consortium of the United States (or ARCUS) made its announcement in late August, with plans to wrap up operations. A grant from the National Science Foundation was the largest funding source for ARCUS, but the Trump administration axed it.
