A prolific shoplifter who stole thousands of pounds worth of chocolate, baby products and cleaning supplies has been banned from all Co-op and Tesco stores across Leicestershire and Rutland. Jonathan Sculthorpe was arrested by police while attempting to steal from a Co-op store earlier this year.
The 44-year-old ,of St Johns, Enderby , committed multiple thefts from supermarkets across Leicester between December 2024 and January 2025, targeting high-value items including Christmas gift boxes, alcohol and groceries. Court documents show his crimes included stealing £600 worth of groceries from Tesco on one occasion and £350 worth of cleaning products from Co-op on another.
Police said Sculthorpe was remanded to court following his arrest. He appeared before Leicester Magistrates'
