Meghan Markle will be made "accountable for harming the people she harms" in a crunch make or break defamation hearing this week, her sister's lawyer said.

Samantha Markle sued Meghan for defamation in Tampa, Florida, in March 2022 and lost, but has gone to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals to try to overturn the ruling.

Her latest challenge will be fought in Atlanta on Tuesday, before a decision is made by a panel of judges at a later date.

If Samantha wins, she could ultimately force Meghan to return to court for a trial and potentially be required to pay damages. However, if she loses, there is no higher court she can realistically expect to take on the case, meaning her three-year campaign will have ended in failure.
