ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - A 16-year-old who pleaded guilty to first-degree murder has been sentenced to 25 years in prison, followed by probation, according to online court records.
Daydrian Martin pleaded to the murder of 15-year-old Isaac Cunningham , which took place in June 2024 on Ferncliff Avenue.
In court September 8, 2025, Martin was sentenced to 37 years for first-degree murder, plus three years for use of a firearm, with 15 years suspended, followed by five years probation.
Martin will initially be referred to the Department of Juvenile justice to begin serving his sentence, and will be held at its discretion no later than his 21st birthday, according to the Roanoke Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
