HAYSVILLE, Kan. (KAKE) - One person is dead after a shooting early Sunday morning near Haysville.

Just before 3 a.m. Sunday, dispatch received an automated crash detection alert from a mobile device in the area. Haysville Police, along with Sedgwick County EMS and Fire District 1, responded and found an SUV that had crashed into a tree. Inside the vehicle, first responders found 43-year-old Jesse Rau of Haysville suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he later died. A female passenger sustained minor injuries from the crash.
