After being used mostly as a checker and penalty killer during his rookie season, Trevor Zanutto wants to provide more scoring this year.

He’s doing a great job so far.

The Chatham Maroons’ second-year forward scored six goals in the pre-season, tied for the most in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.

“Putting up points, that’s all fun, but winning games is obviously more fun,” said Zanutto, who turns 18 in December. “The whole team is clicking and we’re all playing well, so I’m looking forward to get started.”

Zanutto scored twice Sunday as the Maroons wrapped up their exhibition schedule with an 8-2 win over the LaSalle Vipers at Chatham Memorial Arena.

The Maroons went 4-0-0-0 in the pre-season.
