MACOMB COUNTY, MI – Multiple people were injured and a dog died after a boat exploded at a marina in Macomb County.

The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office Marine Division responded to Emerald City Harbor in St. Clair Shores at 12:35 p.m. on Sept. 6.

Video footage shows the vessel, carrying two individuals and a dog, getting fuel at the gas dock. The vessel pulls away from the dock but explodes seconds later.

Witnesses assisted the individuals who were thrown into the water but sustained minor injuries, deputies said. The dog was taken to an emergency veterinary hospital where it later died.
