PHOENIX (AZFamily) — An officer-involved shooting has closed a major west Phoenix intersection on Monday afternoon.

Police are asking everyone to avoid the area near 35th Avenue between Van Buren Street and Buckeye Road .

A suspect has been transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. There are no injuries to officers.

It is unclear what led up to the shooting.
