A man from Greater Manchester is seriously ill in hospital in Turkey after he fell from height from a wall while on holiday, his family have said.

Mark Snelgrove, 40, didn't appreciate the height of the wall and fell backwards, hitting his head on the ground, said his girlfriend Courtney Lee, 26.

The family are now facing a bill running to thousands of pounds in Euros for the hospital treatment Mark is receiving.

Courtney said the couple were taking a shortcut back to their hotel in Antalya at the time, having been out at a bar for a meal. She said Mark grabbed hold of a metal bar as he jumped, but fell backwards.
