ERWIN, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Erwin Board of Mayor and Aldermen will meet for a disciplinary hearing on Monday regarding recently fired police chief Regan Tilson.
News Channel 11 will stream the meeting live on WJHL.com. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
Tilson was fired after failing an alcohol test on June 30. He was placed on leave before ultimately being terminated after an investigation that led the town recorder to determine his firing was warranted.
Tilson's attorney, Todd Hull, told News Channel 11 that Tilson has appealed the decision and that he plans to run for Unicoi County Sheriff in 2026.
On Friday, the Town of Erwin released the investigation findings into Tilson's alcohol test. More than a dozen witnesses were interviewed as part of the investigation.
