JAMESTOWN — The Jamestown Fire Department responded to a report of smoke and sparks coming from a thermostat at 921 Gardenette Drive on Monday, said Grant Christianson, fire inspection officer for the department.

Four units and 17 firefighters responded to the call, which was reported at 10:19 a.m., he said.

Christianson said the breaker was tripped to the thermostat, so it had no power. They checked the equipment with a thermal imager to make sure there was no heat, determined there was none and advised them to contact an electrician to have it repaired.

There was no damage or fire.

Firefighters were at the scene for about 15 minutes. No injuries were reported.
