DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Delaware County Election Board has approved a plan to introduce vote centers throughout the county ahead of next year's election.

Delaware County Clerk Rick Spangler told FOX59/CBS4 that the board -- which consists of Spangler, Republican Peter Drumm and Democrat Daniel Gibson -- has forwarded the plan to the state for final review.

The board formally adopted the plan on Monday to utilize 26 voter centers and one additional early voting site on the two Saturdays before the next election takes place. Early voting will be available at the Delaware County Building located at 100 W. Main Street.

Since there are no elections taking place in 2025, the new model would be implemented starting with the May 2026 primary election.
