Multnomah County’s top elected official is urging District Attorney Nathan Vasquez on Monday to help her “combat misinformation” about an Aug. 25 stabbing outside the Central Library by releasing video footage of the incident, which prompted business groups to demand additional security in the area.

County Chair Jessica Vega Pederson said she viewed surveillance video of the stabbing and that “there seems to be a serious discrepancy between the video I saw, reports from library and security staff, and how this incident was reported by [the Portland Police Bureau] and subsequently some of the media.”
