MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - An Oakhurst woman who officers say was "driving recklessly" has been arrested following a crash that killed an 87-year-old woman from Fresno and injured two others on Sunday.
According to the CHP, 30-year-old Savannah Bleu Rickman from Oakhurst was driving a black Honda Accord north on Highway 41, near Road 406, around 7:30 p.m.
At the same time, a 63-year-old woman from Fresno was driving a white Ford Escape south.
CHP officials say that as the two vehicles approached each other, the Honda Accord veered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with the Ford Escape.
Both vehicles sustained major damage as they came to a stop in the intersection, blocking traffic.
