DECAL investigating child left in vehicle at South Georgia child care center

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - On Friday, Aug. 22, an incident occurred at Little Angels Preschool and Childcare Center in Valdosta involving the safety and well-being of a 4-year-old boy.

According to the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL), early reports indicate that following the day’s transportation, the child fell asleep and was inadvertently left alone on the center’s vehicle for over an hour.

The report says during this time, the child was neither transported to their home nor brought back into the facility, and center staff remained unaware of the child’s presence on the vehicle.

No professional medical attention was sought or obtained after the child was discovered.
