Monday notes: • FIVE IS NOT FINE: The five runs scored by the Nationals in the ninth inning yesterday were just the fourth five-run inning against the Cubs all season. It was the first in 54 games, since July 6 vs. the Cardinals. The others were April 22 vs. the Dodgers and June 22 vs. the Mariners. The Cubs won those two games and lost the third. All four were at home. They have surrendered six runs in an inning twice and eight, nine and 10 runs once each.
