Republican Sens. Rick Scott of Florida and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin announced Monday a Congressional investigation into the deadly Palisades fire.

The probe will look at whether the city was adequately prepared for the emergency, including an examination into whether there were enough water resources.

The Times has reported an area reservoir was empty when the fire broke out and the city’s fire department chose to limit emergency staffing.
