NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — It almost sounds too good to be true, there is now a needle free alternative to getting a flu shot: A nasal spray called FluMist.
Just approved by the FDA, FluMist can be ordered online and shipped to your home to be administered. You must provide insurance and a shipping charge.
"We're really excited about FluMist and this is really going to increase vaccine uptake in groups where we've historically had trouble," Dr. Scott Roberts, a Yale infectious disease specialist, said.
