CLEARWATER, Fla. ( WWSB ) - The man accused of causing a deadly ferry crash in Clearwater has faced a judge.
Jeff Knight, 62, was arraigned Monday and is now facing several felony charges. Prosecutors said he’s responsible for an April 27 collision that left one man dead and injured 10 others.
Investigators said Knight’s boat slammed into a ferry carrying 45 passengers. The crash killed 41-year-old Jose Castro, a father of two young girls. Deputies later found Knight heading toward his home, allegedly trying to leave the scene.

Castro’s sister is now calling for accountability. “I want this person who did this to pay for what he did,” she said. “I know my brother is not coming back.
