A 3-year-old boy who ran into a street and was fatally struck by a vehicle in Long Beach was identified by county authorities Monday.
Officers were dispatched at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday to a report of a traffic crash in the area of Artesia Boulevard and Rose Avenue, just south of the Artesia (91) Freeway, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The vehicle was going westbound on Artesia Boulevard when it struck the child, who had run into the street. Paramedics took the child to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The boy was identified by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office as Noah Hernandez Perez of Long Beach.
